Research Interests

The Whitmer Group is interested in a variety of different phenomena in thermodynamics and statistical mechanics, primarily applied to soft materials. Recent projects include liquid crystal phase characterization and material properties, self-assembly of novel nanoscale structures, weak polyelectrolyte swelling, and thermodynamic binding energy calculations.
